Lest We Forget: Remembering Chinese Australian Servicemen and Women – Upcoming Event at the Chinese Museum on ANZAC Day

永志不忘:缅怀华裔澳大利亚军人 – 澳华博物馆将于澳纽军团日举行纪念活动

The Museum of Chinese Australian History invites you to join an event honoring the lives and legacy of Chinese Australians who bravely served under the Australian flag during World War I and World War II.

  • Date: ANZAC DAY – Friday, 25 April 2025
  • Time: 11:00am – 12:30pm for event
  • 10.00am – 4.00pm for viewing of Anzacs exhibition
  • Location: Chinese Museum, Chinatown, 22 Cohen Place, Melbourne 
  • Tickets: $20.

The Event will feature:

  • Three short videos in memory of Chinese Australians who served in WWI and WWII:
    • Persistence and Patriotism: Tong Way brothers
    • Desert Warriors: Langtip brothers
    • Bridging Veterans and Current Servicemen: Alwyn Quoy

  • Yvonne Horsfield will recall
    “World War I experiences of my grandfather, Hedley Tong Way”
  • Peter Liefman OAM, a Vietnam Veteran, who has since been recognized for his service to
    veterans and their families, will recount his first-hand experiences.
  • Adil Soh-Lim, co-author of For Honour and Country: Victorian Chinese Australians in
    WW II, will present some inciteful research on her journey to bring this book together.
  • Special guest:
    Victorian Veterans Council’s Lucy Saaroni, a military veteran and an Australian Army Public
    Affairs Officer, who was deployed on warlike military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
