The Chinese Community Council of Australia, Victoria Chapter (CCCAV) warmly congratulates the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours recipients of Chinese heritage.
This year, at least nine Chinese Australians were recognised for their contributions across science, education, arts, and community service.
- Professor Terence Chi-Shen Tao AC (陶哲轩教授): For eminent service to the mathematical sciences, the global mathematics community, and tertiary education. Professor Tao is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading mathematicians and becomes one of only a handful of Chinese Australians to receive the nation’s highest honour.
- Professor Zheng Xiang Li AM (李正祥教授): Recognised for significant service to earth sciences and education, particularly in the field of plate tectonics and geodynamics.
- Dr Hope Gertrude O’Chin AM: An Indigenous elder of Chinese heritage, honoured for her contributions to art, education, and the advancement of Aboriginal communities.
- Ms Elaine Chia OAM (谢霭玲): For service to the arts and cultural development, including advancing Asian Australian representation in the performing arts.
- Ms Sharon Mun-Foon Ding OAM (陈文凤): For service to people with disability and advocacy for inclusive education and community participation.
- Dr Anne Pang OAM (黄碧瑶博士): For service to the community through martial arts and empowerment initiatives.
- Dr Celina Ping Yu OAM (于萍博士): For service to business, multicultural engagement, and community development.
- Mr Man Kit Yu OAM (余文杰): For service to the community through philanthropy and support for multicultural and charitable initiatives.
- Professor Shixiang Zhang OAM (张世祥教授): For service to music education, with a lifelong contribution to nurturing generations of musicians.
