CCCAV Leads Community Campaign Against Proposed Amendment to Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act in 2014
Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act makes it unlawful to engage in actions that offend, insult, humiliate, or intimidate someone based on their race. In 2014, the federal government sought to fulfill an election promise by attempting to repeal section 18C. However, this effort was abandoned due to widespread public backlash.
